Holy week provides an opportunity for the Universal Church to follow Christ through the events preceding his crucifixion, death on the cross, and victory over death in his resurrection. Join us as we facilitate a series of daily worship services. Multiple congregational leaders from throughout the United States, Canada, China, Myanmar, Austria, and New Zealand will guide us. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together, find solidarity in Christ, and prepare for life on the other side of death. We will be using the chat feature through the livestream platform to help participants engage with one another in the passing of the peace, share prayer concerns, etc.
Individuals and congregations are encouraged to participate live or watch recordings later in the day or week, wherever you are located. Feel free to join us for any or all of the services. ALL ARE WELCOME!
We are so glad you have joined us during Holy Week! You can rewatch our services from earlier in the week on our Livestream page. If you are interested in opportunities to continue connecting with the Tabernacle community virtually during the COVID-19 Pandemic, please let us know and we will help you find the right place to do that.Friday Evening, 8 PM (EDT): We will gather back together for a reflective worship service, led by various leaders and the Sanctuary Choir from Tabernacle Baptist Church. The choir will share “Return to Me”, a choral service based on the stations of the cross (see details below).
Saturday Evening, 10PM-1AM (EDT): visit a Zoom room anytime between the hours of 10PM and 1AM as different facilitators guide us in a loosely structured Easter Vigil. Participants can stay for as little as 10 minutes or the entire time (see details below).
Sunday Morning, 11:00 AM (EDT): similar to last Sunday morning, everyone is encouraged to worship (online) with their local congregations. Of course, all are welcome to join us for worship at 11:00AM (EDT). Clergy friends, should your congregation choose to join us that morning, you are more than welcome to participate, via recored video, in leadership during the service.
Sunday Afternoon: Many of us are experiencing grief in new forms. The COVID-19 Pandemic has separated us from loved ones. This may be especially difficult for those that are accustomed to gathering for an Easter Feast with family and friends. We encourage you to prepare a “feast” in your own home, setup your streaming device at one end of the table, and share a meal and holy conversation with others virtually. Invite one or two other families or individuals to participate with you by gathering at their table, with their meal, at the same time. Use it as an opportunity to reflect on who you feel God is nudging you to connect with, or reach out to during this season.
***We are in the Eastern Time Zone (US), but you can use the time zone selector to set the calendar to your local time zone.
