Worship: Proper 21a, September 25, 2011

Sunday’s worship service centers on Matthew 21:23-32. Elisabeth Elliot has observed, “The problem with living sacrifices is that they keep crawling off the altar.” Committed veterans of the faith struggle, at times, with the following. We say yes but we struggle with following through. The parable Jesus offers in Matthew 21 speaks to the struggle and also his expectation that we will serve obediently. Worship leaders include Jack White, Weh Loh, Sah Hay Hoo, Jessica Corbitt, the Sanctuary Choir, Way Snah Htoo, Christen Schumacher and the church staff.

Worship leaders include Carol McMurray, Brenda Gradwell, Jerry Jones, Samantha Denton, Khan Naw, the Sanctuary Choir, and Church Staff. How do embrace the mercy of God when it is offered to others freely? We must choose to either hold onto our grudges/jealously OR live our lives full of gratitude.
