This page offers brief overviews of each session from the Good Futures Accelerator, a guided process created by RootedGood to help churches align their assets, mission, and imagination. We’ll update this page as new sessions are introduced.

Session 1: Introducing Good Futures In this foundational session, participants were invited to reimagine what the church is and what it could become. The session emphasized that churches are not dying—they’re being remade. Through the use of personal storytelling, group reflection, and a theological framework rooted in hope, we explored what it means to step into the role of faithful innovators. We were introduced to the Good Futures framework and learned how social enterprise can be a practical expression of the gospel.

Session 2: Who Are We? People and Passions This session focused on identity—who we are, what we care about, and what God is already doing among us. Through asset mapping and deep listening, we surfaced core passions and long-held values. We named the stories, experiences, and commitments that shape our congregation’s unique purpose. It became clear that our ability to respond to the future starts with understanding what has been most alive in our past and present.

Session 3: What Do We Have? Resources and Constraints We turned our attention to the tangible assets and real limitations of our congregation. This included buildings, land, financial resources, people, relationships, and time. Using guided tools, we examined how these assets could be leveraged more creatively for mission—and also what constraints must be acknowledged as we dream. The goal was to hold these realities with honesty and imagination.

Session 4: What Could Be? Imagination and Possibilities The fourth session moved us into the space of dreaming. Through exercises in possibility thinking and group discernment, we began to imagine potential social enterprise models that align with our mission and context. We looked at examples from other congregations and began sketching out what kinds of partnerships, ventures, or new uses of space might become viable paths forward for our community.

More sessions to come! This page will continue to grow as we walk the Good Futures journey together.
