Proper 7a: Hagar and Ishmael find themselves begging God for mercy in the Wilderness.  Was he laughing at or with his three year old brother when Sarah was filled with rage? Does God really condone the decision to place them in the wilderness?  The summer-long narrative continues and points to Abraham losing his second son in next week’s service.
